The Fundamentals of Instruction course is the first step for all Canadian Red Cross Instructors, regardless of the discipline they plan to teach. This course explores the role of an instructor, learning styles, and methods of instruction, with a strong emphasis on learner-centered teaching. In addition, participants will learn about the instructional tasks required of a Red Cross Instructor and the tools available to assist with course planning, delivery, and post-course responsibilities.
Prerequisites:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Valid participant certificate for the program you wish to teach
- Skills evaluation
Fundamentals of Instruction Course
- Online Fundamentals of Instruction approximately 8 hours
- 16 hours classroom including in-class micro teaching
